Central Government notifies Industrial Relation (Central) Rules, 2026

The Central Government has notified the Industrial Relations (Central) Rules, 2026 under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020. The Rules were published on 08.05.2026 in Official Gazette. It can be downloaded from egazette.gov.in/(S(gnmfg1ja1abkiv1l2tyuawsl))/ViewPDF.aspx

The Rules may affect areas such as registrations and recognitions of Trade Unions, in-house grievance redressal mechanism; certification of standing orders, notice of strike and lock-out, retrenchment, lay-off and closure procedure, forms, returns/registers maintained by employer, workers reskilling fund and procedure before conciliation officer.

Notably, the Rule does not prescribe procedure to be followed by the Industrial Tribunals and National Tribunal set up under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020.
